“I have always been interested in places and environments.  These are not necessarily glamorous places, but they are always ‘real’ places.”

Clive’s paintings concentrate on the organisation of objects and colours resulting in the depiction of space. 

Their composition brings certain characteristics to the attention of the viewer, drawing strength from the use of colour: sometimes subtle and muted, other times powerful and singing. 

They inspire the viewer to appreciate a familiar situation in a new way, creating a window to view the object from a different angle, in a different light.
